The Oskaloosa Herald

OSKALOOSA — Federal authorities have announced raids in three Iowa cities, including Pella and Oskaloosa.

Details are limited. The raids targeted administrative violations according to the U.S. Attorney's office, not criminal activity. Eighteen people were arrested.

In Oskaloosa, the arrests centered on the Osakloosa Family Restaurant. It was not immediately clear how many people were arrested in either Oskaloosa or Pella.

The arrests focus on people who are either in the country illegally or have violated the terms of legal entry into the United States. Those arrested are subject to deportation.

Newton was also involved in the arrests.
